This is a portable SALEM stainless steel (seamless construction) pressure-type vertical top-loading cooker-type steam steriliser (autoclave). There are two variants available: one that runs on electricity, and the other on gas, kerosene, or wood.
By using saturated steam at a pressure of 15-20 psi, it is used to sterilise surgical tools, dressing materials, linen, rubber, and specific plastic materials. In addition to hospitals, it is employed in colleges, departments, laboratories, and universities as well as scientific research facilities.

Precautions:

• Never attempt to aggressively open the autoclave lid when opening or closing it; always maintain the steam release valve open.
• Check that the lid is properly closed (the handles of the lid and body are exactly stacked on top of one another) before turning the autoclave on.
• The necessary pressures are fixed for the weight-type safety valves. Avoid adding additional weights to them because doing so could cause problems.
• To prevent any jamming, regularly clean the vent holes of the weight valves with a thin wire.
• In addition, keep the gasket on the autoclave clean to prevent leaks from the lid gasket.
• Never use too little or no water when using the autoclave. The autoclave and the can be harmed by it.
• When the lid is removed off the autoclave, keep it gently in upright position and on leveled surface. Jerks may damage the pressure gauges.
• In case of any problem, stop using the autoclave and contact authorized dealer.
• Do not shift the instruments under working conditions.

i) Switch off electric supply

ii) Remove plug from socket

iii) Release steam if any

• To avoid any electric shocks

i) Do not touch the autoclave bare feet or wet hands.

ii) Do not keep the autoclave on any wooden/rubber/insulated surface. Keep on marble floor/shelf.

iii) Check the internal wiring at your place has proper earthing.

• For better looks, clean the autoclave with soft & moist cloth.
